How to Keep from Getting Hurt - Learn More About How to Avoid Negative Body Talk

How to Keep from Getting Hurt - Learn More About How to Avoid Negative Body TalkBody language communication has become a popular topic among psychotherapists, but what exactly is it? Is it an accurate indicator of how others perceive you? It's not really just a representation of one's cultural background. It is something else, which reflects not only what you are like, but also where you come from and how you interact with others. If you study a group of people, what they say about you is of paramount importance to the success of your life.Studying ethnically diverse samples of college students, we found that the people who said the most negative things about their fellow students were usually those who themselves said the most positive things about their peers. The people who said the most positive things about their peers were the people who said the most negative things about their peers. The opposite occurred when comparing those who said 'not so good' to those who said 'good.' We all know that how we feel about other people is not always based on the reality of their behavior.Having a positive body talk can save a lot of suffering. By teaching body language to college students, we can encourage and equip them to prevent the destructive way of thinking that results in negative body talk.As an example, you should know that when you approach someone, you should keep talking as if you want to be there. And when you are talking, you should use your whole body. You should not hide your emotions and you should act like you want to be there, if you really wanted to be there.Knowing that body language is as real as body language, if you actually feel good about yourself, you will speak with confidence. If you are embarrassed or 'uncomfortable' about yourself, you will tend to talk less and be more concerned about the opinion of others. If you truly love who you are and know that you are worth something, you will speak more confident, and you will never use body lang uage to hide yourself. All this knowledge about the effect of negative body talk will not only help you communicate more effectively, but also help you to avoid offending others, and giving them pain and confusion, and so on. In the long run, that is a sure way to find a more fulfilling life. And you will not have to worry about what other people think. Just learn more about what their thoughts are, and stay away from negative body talk, and you'll be a better person.
